FAQ

Common questions,
straight answers.

How long does sea freight from China to Ghana take?
Direct sailings from Shanghai or Ningbo to Tema typically take 32–40 days port-to-port, depending on the carrier and routing. Add 5–10 days for pickup, paperwork, and final delivery. We usually quote a realistic 40–50-day door-to-door window for FCL.
Do you handle customs clearance at Tema Port?
Yes — Tema Port is our base. Our licensed clearing agents file declarations through GCNet, settle duties and VAT on your behalf, secure permits and certificates where required, and follow up until your cargo is released. You get every line item itemised before we charge anything.
Can I ship perishables, and how are they handled?
Yes. We move fresh produce, frozen goods, pharmaceuticals, and chilled cargo via reefer containers. Reefers run from −25°C to +25°C and are monitored throughout transit. We'll advise on packaging, certificates of origin, and phytosanitary documents.
What is the difference between FCL and LCL?
FCL (Full Container Load) means you book a whole container (20ft, 40ft, or 40HC) for your shipment — best when you have enough cargo to fill it. LCL (Less than Container Load) means your cargo shares a container with other shippers — billed by volume (m³) or weight, whichever is greater. LCL is cheaper for smaller shipments; FCL is faster and safer for larger ones.
Do you offer door-to-door delivery within Ghana?
Yes. Our last-mile fleet covers the Greater Accra region directly, and we partner with vetted trucking networks for deliveries across Ghana and the wider ECOWAS region. Insurance is included and a signed proof of delivery is sent on completion.
How do I track my shipment?
Every shipment gets a reference number (e.g. ARC-2026-04127) and you receive milestone updates by WhatsApp and email at booking, departure, transhipment, arrival, customs clearance, and final delivery. Need an update mid-transit? WhatsApp us the reference and we'll reply with the latest position.
What documents do I need to provide?
For most shipments: a commercial invoice, packing list, and the bill of lading (issued by the shipping line). For special cargo, you may need a certificate of origin, fumigation/phytosanitary certificate, FDA/EPA permit, or hazmat declaration. We'll send you a checklist tailored to your specific shipment.
Do you handle personal effects and relocations?
Absolutely — and it's one of our specialties, especially for diaspora returnees. We pack, ship, clear customs, and deliver to your new home in Ghana. Used personal effects are duty-exempt under certain conditions; we'll guide you through eligibility and paperwork. Full-house or part-shipments both welcome.
